EEPROM programmer for NEC processor for Mercedes – Benz keys (programmer for “small fishes”)

Functions

The device meaned for erasing and EEPROM programming of NEC processors, which installed into Mercedes keys since 2000. To be programmed the processor should be soldered out from a key and installed to the device board.

The implemented functions

The software of the device has a module structure. The are 3 modules are available at the moment:
• Programmer for EEPROM processor;
• Module of key diagnostics by IK;
• Module for work with latches (ESL).

There are 2 modules in a checkout stage:
• CAN protocol analyzer;
• K-line protocol analyzer.

Lets view some modules in details.

EEPROM programmer

For programming or erasing EEPROM processor must be soldered out from a key and soldered in to module of programmer extension. In programmer software choose “NEC Programmer” module.

*Serial – Keyset ID, Static Code – Password

The following functions are available:
- test of processor;
- recording prepared data into EEPROM;
- EEPROM erasing and preparing the key to the following programming through IK port (after soldering in process into the key);
- Recording data to the key through IK (the processor should be prepared in advance).

We glad to note following features of the programmer:
- time of programming is never come up more the 15 seconds (!);
- it is a possible to set limit for a quantity of key abrasions. On reaching of given limit the car stops recognize the key. The key efficiency can be restored by programmer through IK port.

The module for work with a key through IK

The module mean for keys diagnostics. The programmer supports both NEC and Motorola processors (for oldest models).

Besides the module allows to reset all limits for key abrasions amount (if there were set any).

Using the programmer and the Dump Editor program to repair E220 CDI

How to restore E220 CDI engine 646.961?

Possible problems description: Mercedes Benz (E Class ) car has fail, an engine doesn't start, a key doesn't turn, starter doesn't work, a cooler is working all the time.

Repair of Electronic Ignition Switch 211.

1. Solder out chip from EIS (see the picture below).



2. Put it into programmer (see the picture below).

We use adaptor for programmer, specially designed in the AeroOBD JSC to avoid soldering chip into programmer and out (see the picture below).

3. Connect programmer to the PC.


4. You may see on the PC screen content of the chip (dump) through the programmer software and store it on your PC hard disc.

5. Launch the Dump Editor program and open the dump file in it.

The Dump Editor program is reading information of dump and shows it on the screen. Edition occurs during saving the dump file (control amounts are counting and so on).

Moreover, the Dump Editor Program allows you to change a run (see the picture below), VIN-code, a key, to write comments.

There is a log file in it, where all the actions are written. There is a search in the log file, so you can easily find any action which has ever been done in the dump.

The Dump Editor Program for the Electronic Ignition Switch allows to copy information to the Key Dump Editor Program to restore the key.

Let's take for example a key, the big one.


1. Take out chip from the key.



2. Put the chip into the adaptor for programmer, which installed to the programmer.



3. Connect the programmer with the keys chip to our PC.

4. Launch dump editor program.

CDI can be programmed through programmer.
